According to reports in a letter posted by journalist Seth Olale, William Ruto Ruto had sent invitation letter to Raila Odinga to attend his swearing in tomorrow.
However, Raila has reportedly turned down the invitation, adding that they had a phone call with William Ruto earlier.
Raila is reported to have said he is out of the country and therefore cannot attend the inauguration since,he doesn't believe Ruto won fairly.
On Tuesday at the Kasarani National Stadium, President-elect William Ruto and his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will be sworn into office.
The Assumption of Office Committee, represented by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, expressed satisfaction with the preparations and readiness for the inauguration event.
He reaffirmed that the doors will open at 4:00 a.m. and that over 60,000 Kenyans, twenty heads of state, and 2,500 VIPs are expected to attend.
Constitutionally, the President-elect should administer the Oath of Office between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
According to the program, all guests and members of the general public must be seated at the Stadium by 10:00 a.m.
The schedule indicates that Ruto and his wife Rachel will arrive at 11:40 a.m.
A few minutes later, outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta will arrive and be greeted by General Kibochi before being brought to the ceremonial Land Rover and inside the stadium.
President Kenyatta will now inspect the Guard of Honor following the playing of the national anthem.
After that, he will take his place on the Dais, followed by Interdenominational prayers, as is customary for all Kenyan public events.
Anne Amadi, Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, will administer oaths of office to Ruto and Gachagua at 12:10 p.m.
