Taking to his social media pages, Kiraitu Murungi said that he had decided to quit elective politics after serving as an MP, minister, senator and governor. He thanked all those he interacted with during his long stint in politics.
"While this marks the end of the road for me in elective politics, it's definitely not the end of the journey for realising my dream of making Meru and Kenya great. The best interest of Meru and Kenya will always be dear to my heart," Kiraitu Murungi said.
The outgoing Meru county chief said that he will spend most of his time with his family and friends. "I will spend more time with my family and friends, and pursue my dreams and ambitions outside the arena of elective politics," the Meru governor said.
