Kenya Flag Takes Center Stage In Ethiopia As Ruto Held Conversation With Ethiopia Head of State

President William Ruto arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Thursday for the launch of Safaricom operations as well as hold talks with his host Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. It was Ruto’s first visit to the country since his election in August when he replaced Uhuru Kenyatta.

We look forward to reconfiguring our priorities — rooted in our shared ideals and values — to promote innovation and inclusive growth for socio-economic good of the people.Held talks with Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed at his office in Addis Ababa.The meeting centred on the two countries exploiting their long-standing relations and proximity to increase cross-border trade.

As part of that process, Safaricom Ethiopia was granted a nationwide full-service Unified Telecommunications Service Licence and is the first company in the country to launch a competitive mobile service to Ethio Telecom, which is state-owned.
