Moses Kuria Raises Alarm with an Early-Morning Plea Over Juja by-Elections

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria took to social media in the wee hours of the morning, pleading for help to see the Juja parliamentary by-elections proceed uninterrupted.

Kuria lamented that a power blackout had affected most polling stations.

He appealed for help from PS Eng Joseph Njoroge to remedy the situation.

“Power Blackout in most polling centres in Juja. PS Eng Joseph Njoroge kindly assist.” Kuria wrote.

The vocal lawmaker has been making unfounded claims of a plot to rig the elections in favour of a particular candidate.

He has also decried the treatment of his People’s Empowerment Party candidate George Koimburi.

Most recently, police barred the public from attending the launch of a public washroom constructed by Koimburi in Wiateithie.

“For so many years, men women and children at Witeithie Market have been using open air toilets in land belonging to some very wealthy families. That is why Hon George Koimburi and myself decided to construct a modern block of toilets for them, replete with even several bathrooms.

The government has failed to provide even a basic toilet for them. When we tried to launch the block of toilets today, police sought for reinforcements from as far as Mwingi to stop two people.

You may have stopped us but verily, verily I say unto you Pharaoh, my people of Witeithie will from today use a toilet as clean as that used by your wife because they are also human beings” Kuria wrote at the time.
