"Ruto Is Losing His Ground" As Another Poll Shows He Is Losing Popularity to Wajackoyah

With only about less than two months remaining before we go into August General election, An opinion poll by the Intel Research Solutions (IRS) , released on Tuesday July 5, 2022 have revealed that Roots Party presidential candidate Professor George Wajackoyah was eating into UDA and Kenya Kwanza Alliance's presidential candidate William Ruto's support base.

From the findings of the IRS poll, Ruto's popularity have plummeted from possible 51.2% in an earlier poll that was conducted by IRS on June 19, 2022 to 49.9% , a massive percentage reduction by 1.3 percentage points.

After declaring his presidential bid few weeks ago, Wajackoya hit the headlines with his "ganjanomics", selling of snakes among other manifesto. He benefited most from Ruto's drop in popularity, with the IRS ranking revealing that he was preferred by 2.8% more than initial 1.9% of the voters, an upward advantage of 0.9%.

However, Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga maintained his popularity at 42.5% and lastly Agano presidential candidate David Mwaure's popularity according to IRS, it has increased by 0.4 percentage points to 1.1%. And sadly the number of voters who have remained undecided have their percentage points increase by 0.1%.

However, despite the drop in the DP's points, IRS has established that there is a possible run off, saying that in the month to election, all presidential candidates will engage in aggressive and combative campaigns, which will see at least one of them manage the 50% + 1 vote threshold.
