The body in charge of elections in Kenya, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) that is chaired by Wafula Chabukati has been forced into deep mourning after a great official died in hospital in Nairobi after a short illness.
Njoroge Nani Mungai is the lawyer who acted on behave of IEBC during the 2013 presidential election petition. Following the reports via the media, Njoroge Nani Mungai died while receiving treatment at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi few weeks after he was admitted.
Other than working as a lawyer of IEBC, he also worked as a partner of MMC asafo, as the chairman of Postal Corporation of Kenya as well as the Director of Kenya Development Corporation Limited. He also helped Supreme Court Judge Justice Jacktone Ojwang from being removed from duty by representing him in a meeting that was to investigate his misconduct and remove him from office.
Mungai did a bachelor's degree in law in University of Nairobi and a post graduate diploma from Kenya School of Law.
