According to a statement issued today by a global group, former President Uhuru Kenyatta's first cabinet secretary for foreign affairs was given a prestigious position during his first term in office by a global group observer mission to the Dominican Republic, where elections are scheduled to take place in a few days.
The commonwealth said that Amina, who only recently left office last month after handing over to Ababu Namwamba, will lead a team of five skilled individuals to the goal. One of those she will mentor is Liberata Mulamula, a former Tanzanian minister of foreign affairs.
"Under the chairmanship of Amina Mohammed, I firmly trust that the observation group will deliver an informed, detailed, and objective assessment," said Patricia Scotland, secretary general of the Commonwealth.
Amina is anticipated to travel and land in the Dominican Republic by Wednesday following this week. They must go across the entire nation while remaining unbiased during the exercise.
