Anne Kananu Mwenda is due to be sworn in as Nairobi County Governor on Tuesday, November 16 at the Kenyatta International Conventional Center (KICC).
A Gazette notice issued by Jairus Musumba, the chairman of the county governor's assumption committee, said Kananu will be sworn in on KICC COMESA grounds from 10 a.m.
His swearing-in comes after the court dismissed the appeal of former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, seeking to prevent Kananu from being sworn in as Nairobi governor.
"The court, we conclude that it does not have jurisdiction to hear the request," one reads in part of the decision.
The Supreme Court justices noted that in the absence of a judgment from the appeals court, Sonko's request is premature and does not meet the constitutional threshold.
Sonko wanted the Supreme Court to ban Kananu from swearing in as governor of Nairobi pending the hearing and decision of his appeal.
