In last few days, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance gubernatorial candidate in Nairobi, Polycarp Igathe has been accussed of blaming the Somali community on the problems facing Nairobi, led by Garissa Township member of parliament Aden Duale, he accussed Igathe of being tribal and who is not supposed to be elected governor, he even threatened to go to Nairobi and urge Somali people not to elect Igathe.
Today Igathe has moved with speed to explain the context of his words, Igathe says that his remarks were drawn from the campaign trail where the electorates want equitable distribution of resources and no one should get more resources than the other. Igathe says it is now over 25 years and he has associated with the Somali people in his business, family and many aspects hence he has respect for the community.
Igathe has finally apologized to anyone whom his remarks hurt promising that from now henceforth his remarks will show deep respect for the community. This apology may make Igathe to get more votes in Nairobi because nothing wrong about him will be said having apologized.
