A Nairobi MCA Waithera Chege who is allied to United Democratic Alliance party is now claiming that her life is in danger. Waithera Chege who is the Deputy Majority whip in Nairobi County Assembly says that she was attacked by boda boda riders, an incident that made her fear for her life.
Waithera Chege is the Nairobi South Member of County Assembly. The incident where she was attacked by Bodaboda riders is currently under police investigation. The politician has now asked for police security as she termed the incident a threat to her life.
Waithera Chege however linked the attack to some senior politicians who are her competitors.
"I have been living in fear since mid April after the UDA nominations. Three boda boda riders tracked me to my South B office. They even entered my office by force and tried to attack me in broad daylight," Nairobi South MCA stated.
Following the incident, it has emerged that two Boda Boda operators were intercepted. Unfortunately, Waithera Chege lamented that the two Boda Boda riders were released under unclear circumstances.
Additionally, Nairobi regional commander James Mugera responded to Waithera Chege's call for security where he stated that Members of County Assembly are not entitled to police security.
