Suna West Mp Peter Masara has come out to defend ODM leader Raila Odinga fiercely. The lawmaker was angered by recent threats by Migori governor Okoth Obado that he intends to form a new political party to rival ODM in Luo Nyanza.
"I want to say here that Raila is an institution. People (Obado) are trying to cut him to sizes in Migori. But to the best of my knowledge, all the people of Migori are Raila's followers." Mp Masara claimed.
Earlier, elders from Luo Nyanza cautioned governor Okoth Obado that an introduction of a new political party in the region (Luo Nyanza) will cause division among the people.
Governor Obado in a fiery attack a few weeks ago , dismissed Raila's leadership of the region and demanded the former prime minister steps down for a different person.
Obado accused Raila of suppressing divergent voices within the region. He asked the region to chose a different leader saying Mr Odinga has overstayed on the throne.
