Recently, reliable sources close to Jubilee leadership disclosed that the party had booked the running mate slot in the Azimio La Umoja camp. In a move to woo the mountain region, Raila's running mate position is said to have been reserved for a person from Central kenya.
Seasoned politician Peter Kenneth, Martha Karua and even health cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe have been mentioned as those on president Uhuru Kenyatta's watchlist for the position.
In an exclusive interview with a local daily, CS Mutahi Kagwe opened up his thoughts and addressed the rumours on deputizing Raila Odinga in the upcoming general elections.
Kagwe did not confirm or deny whether he is on the watchlist. He said that he is currently concerned with his current job and everything he is doing now is about bettering his docket.
But also, Kagwe welcomed the idea of deputizing the former Prime minister saying that he will cross the bridge when he gets. In simple terms, Kagwe is waiting for the right time to start lobbying for the seat.
