Veteran media personality Leonard Mambo Mbotela has been sworn in as a board member of the National Heroes Council.
Mbotela was sworn into the Supreme Court in a capacity overseen by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Cabinet Secretary for Sport, Culture and Heritage Amina Mohamed has appointed Leonard Mambo Mbotela as a member of the National Heroes Council.
The longtime media personality will become a member for three years effective August 5.
"Exercising the powers conferred by Section 4(3) of the Kenya Heroes Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Sport, Culture and Heritage appoints Leonard Mambo Mbotela as a member of the National Heroes Council for a period of three years effective 5 August 2022," it says in the notice of appeal.
Under Kenyan law, the National Heroes Council consists of no more than 13 members.
