Professor John Krop Lonyangapuo is the incumbent governor representing West Pokot county on a Kenya African National Union (KANU) party ticket. His development and transformative agenda have enabled him to be among the few governors serving their second term in office. Profile Summary.

He was born and bred in Kanyarkwat village in West Pokot. He attended Kanyarkwat Primary school before proceeding to St Mary's Yala High school in Nyanza where he sat for his 'A' levels examinations. Lonyangapuo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Mathematics from Egerton University and a Doctorate in Applied Mathematics from the University of Leeds in England. His development agenda is anchored on improving the livelihood of his electorates through equitable and sustainable utilization of resources.[Photo courtesy]

Family Life.

He is happily married to Dr Rosemary, a senior lecturer at Moi University. The couple is blessed with three lovely daughters Abigael, Racheal and Esther Chenangat, a Civil Engineer graduate from the University of Nairobi.[Photos courtesy]
