The Building Bridges Initiative is taking another turn now after meeting the 24 County Assemblies threshold. It's now getting closure to a referendum only if the National Assembly and Senate passes the bill.
Taking to his Twitter account,Elgeiyo Marakwet Senator Hon Kipchumba Murkomen lashed those who were celebrating the bill getting endorsement from more than 32 County Assemblies.
In his tweet,Hon Kipchumba Murkomen said that there's no reason as to why the Building Bridges Initiative crusaders were so happy about it because the process was marred with threats, intimidations and blackmailing. The Senator further reasoned that the Building Bridges Initiative was not a contest and therefore it was of no purpose for it's proposers to act like they are winners of a stiff contest.
In his response,Edwin Sifuna reminded Senator that in 2017 too,Jubilee was on celebration mood after winning the Presidential election rerun in which Hon Raila Odinga withdrew from the race.
It is projected that in both houses, the bill will get minimal opposing since it is state sponsored and will be sailing to a referendum.
Therefore the requisite number will be attained and the ball will be set to registered voters who will vote a YES or NO in the ballot.
