Pastor Josephat Gwajima increased his publicity a few moths ago when he mocked Kenya and Rwanda over the COVID-19 cases. The pastor claimed that the disease acted on Kenyans because they refused to go to church. However the pastor was embarrassed a few days after his baseless claims after coronavirus cases in his country spiked up.
Since then, Gwajima who is the head of Glory of Christ Tanzanian Church (GCTC) opted to remain silent especially on matters regarding the COVID-19 disease.
Once again Gwajima has hit the headlines especially in local media houses after he expressed his political interest despite having a religious obligation. According to Darmpya Blog Gwajima has revealed that he is interested in becoming a Member of Parliament for Kawe constituency in Dar es Salaam with the ruling CCM party that is led by president John Pombe Magufuli.
"Sigombei Misungwi japo nimezaliwa Misungwi. Maisha yangu mengi nimeishi Kwe, nimefanya kazi Kawe, nina watu wengi Kawe, network yangu ipo kawe, nimetumia maisha yangu mengi Kawe, na naona naweza kuifanya kitu Kawe kupitia kwa chama changu cha CCM," posed Gwajima.
This has sparked reactions among Tanzanians on Twitter with many expressing their disappointments with the famous pastor as seen below.
