Kilifi county governor Amason Jeffah Kingi, has broken silence over allegations that he hired goons who dismantled tents that were erected at the ground where deputy president William Ruto was to hold a rally together with his newfound partners Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula of FORD Kenya.

Kingi has dismissed such claims terming them as propaganda, the second term Orange Democratic Movement party governor wondered how he could hire goons to disrupt the rally yet Ruto has always been holding campaigns in the county without being interfered with.

"Why would I disrupt deputy president's rally now yet he has been holding rallies in my county without encountering any problem?," The governor told a local publication Taifa Leo.

This comes after Kilifi North constituency member of parliament Owen Baya, a close ally of deputy president William Ruto alleged that the governor was responsible for the dismantling of the venue, his claimed this even as PAA youth leader Jonathan Nyundo stated that the ground where the rally was to take place belongs to him and he was not contacted in prior.
