Wangui Ngirici, a candidate for governor of Kirinyaga county, has retaliated against Governor Anne Waiguru over allegations of vote tampering.
"During your employment at National Youth Service (NYS), there was the single back door that we are aware of. SITE TUPO "In a statement on Wednesday, Ngirici said.
Ann Waiguru claimed that during the voting process, two ballot boxes were secretly brought into the Kianyaga tallying center.
"Through the rear entrance in broad daylight, two ballot boxes containing the governors' votes enter Kirinyaga! They MUST be taken out, and counting must end "tweets from the governor.
Waiguru further charged Ngirici of sending thugs to the Kianyaga tallying facility in an effort to "disrupt vote tallying."
Ngirici, an independent candidate, expressed her confidence in the election process on Tuesday.
Vote counting is currently taking place while the nation waits for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to officially announce the winners.
