Baringo County Women Representative Gladwell Cheruiyot has broken silence after her county MCAs shoot down the BBI report in a debate and voting session that was so dramatic. The election saw 30 MCAs voting "No" thus becoming the first county assembly so far to reject the BBI report.
While attending a church service in untold church in Baringo County, Gladwell talked about the bad picture that was displayed by MCAs who fought one another during the BBI vote session at the county assembly building. She also urged the government to conduct consultative meetings that will see residents and Kenyans are large get familiarize themselves with the said constitutional bill.
Women Rep Baringo, Gladwell Cheruiyot: "Lets not shoot down BBI just to make someone happy. Kenyans have a right to also be taken through this document so that they may see for themselves the good and bad of it."
She also talked about the incident that saw Raymond Moi terming Baringo County to be the poorest county following their rejection of BBI. His sentiments excited mixed reactions from residents and politicians from the area as they condemned him while demanding his apologies.
The KANU-allied legislator Women Rep stated that she is ready to apologise on behalf of Raymond Moi following his unpleasing remarks towards Baringo County residents.
Gladwell Cheruiyot: "Kama watu wa Baringo wamekasirika kwa sababu Raymond Moi aliwaita masikini, mimi nitamwombea msamaha."
