Tension and gloom has befallen the senate minutes after the resumption of the session. The senators are currently in parliament for the BBI Special Sitting debate.
The sitting was adjourned earlier on in the day after members raised an issue with the presented document and has resumed minutes ago.
However, the debate is yet to proceed after Senator Aaron Cheruiyot revealed to the parliament that one of their colleagues had just been arrested while on his way to the parliament.
According to the senator, Mithika’s car was flagged down and ordered to alight from his car before he was ushered in a waiting car which is currently on its way to DCI Offices.
The revelation has left the house in crossroads on whether to proceed with the sitting or wait for official communications from the DCI.
Mithika Linturi who is one of the vocal DP Ruto’s supporter and ally had earlier raised a point of order on his understanding of the document.
