Ever since President Uhuru Kenyatta banned all political meeting and gatherings about two weeks ago due to surge in coronavirus infections, Deputy President William Ruto has been missing in the public limelight.
His absence had kept some tongues wagging, with some opposition bloggers coming out to inquire of his whereabouts and if he is doing well.
But on Wednesday, the self proclaimed chief hustler made his first appearance in public after a long time. In photos that have been shared online, the DP held a consultative parliamentary group meeting at Karen, Nairobi County.
Among those who were in attendance were leaders largely allied to his Tanga-tanga and UDA party. Among those present were former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, Lamu Senator Anuar Loitiptip, MPs Khatip Mwashetani (Lungalunga) Hillary Kosgei (Kipkelion West) Gladys Shillei (Uasin Gishu woman rep) Ngirichi Wambui (Kirinyaga) Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) Caleb Kositany (Soy).
Others were Johanna Ng'eno (Emurua Dikir) Aisha Jumwa (Malindi) Feisal Bader (Msambweni) Senator Irungu Kang'ata (Murang'a) among many other leaders.
Here are the aftermath photos from Ruto's meeting;
