On 26/7/2022 The Azimio campaign trail set foot in the vote rich Meru County in Mount Kenya East.The Azimio Presidential candidate held mega rallies across Meru county in a bid to drum up support for his presidential ambitions. The Azimio political rallies were a success courtesy of Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu and the Mount Kenya East leaders.
The Azimio leadership visit to Meru showcased the witty and massive mobilization by Ann Kananu Mwenda.The Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu Mwenda who hails from Mount Kenya East has been in charge of ground mobilization for Raila Odinga. Kananu has been providing resources to lobby groups that are conducting door to door campaign for Raila Odinga in Mount Kenya East counties.
The people of Meru have a reason to smile after Raila Odinga promised to ensure that Miraa farmers get access to the expansive Somali market. Azimio leadership also promised to uplift Chuka University Igembe branch to University College status.
The Azimio Presidential candidate also committed to give the people of Mount Kenya East a fair share in the national positions. The Meru people were promised major infrastructure development by the Azimio leadership.
Ann Kananu while addressing the Azimio supporters promised to continue investing her time and resources in wooing voters in Mount Kenya East and Nairobi to vote for Raila Odinga.
Truly, Governor Ann Kananu Mwenda has mastered the skill of ground mobilization. The Nairobi Governor has been an asset to Azimio both in Nairobi and Mount Kenya East. Kananu being amongst the most influential women in Kenya is an added advantage to Raila who is banking on his running mate Martha Karua to deliver the women vote.
