Handshake: Ruto Causes a Stir Online as He Posts a Photo Together With Raila at Mashujaa Celebration

Deputy President William Ruto today, Wednesday 20th October 2020, joined President Uhuru Kenyatta, President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, Kenyans and other distinguished leaders and guests during Mashujaa Day Celebrations.

The leaders convened at Wang'uru stadium, Kirinyaga County to celebrate the heroes of the country in the event led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, and the last Mashujaa Day Celebration in his tenure.

The DP has penned a post after the Mashujaa Day Celebrations in Kirinyaga and shared his remarks as the country celebrates this special day.

"This is the moment for us to take the baton from the hands of our indefatigable patriots who bravely stood in the gap and selflessly gave their all to keep the ravages of the pandemic at bay. It is now our turn to run the race with determination, recover what we have lost and renew our focus on the future with urgency," read part of DP Ruto's post.

In his post, the DP has shared the photo above of him together with Former Prime minister Raila Odinga at the Mashujaa Day Celebrations in Kirinyaga causing a stir online.

The photo has triggered a series of mixed reactions from Kenyans who have stormed his timeline to pen various thoughts on the photo of the two 2022 presidential hopefuls.

Some have speculated that the ohoto os a rrplica of a handshake that Kenyans should expect between the leaders after the 2022 general election.
