Speaking during a rally in Mwala sub county Kavindu told Mutua she didn't need to be defended by him.
Kavindu said that it was ironic for the governor to act on her defense yet he too has unsolved family issues.
"I have heard governor Mutua say that I should not be abused, that I have been tormented by my husband Muthama. Stop interfering in my family affairs, you too have family issues that you've failed to solve," said Kavindu.
She went ahead to tell Mutua to stop threatening his county workers with sack if they vote for her.
She noted that they had every right to cast their vote for their preferred candidate.
She also threatened to deal with governor Mutua if he goes on with his threat.
"Let's respect each other, atop threatening your workers that you will sack them if they vote for me. If you sack them when I become governor I will deal with you," she noted.
"The Constitution of Kenya gives every person the right to vote for the candidate of their choice. Governor Mutua, I respect you but also respect your workers," she added.
