The county assembly of Bomet has this evening 23rd February 2021 passed the BBI BILL 2020.

The county assembly of Bomet is one of the counties in rift valley that has been strongly campaigning against the document.

The secretary general of KANU Hon.Nick Salat had asked the county assembly of Bomet to vote in favor of the bill.

According to KANU SG Hon.Salat,all counties that votes in favor of the bill shows that,the county and it's residents supports the president of Republic of Kenya and the former premier Hon.Raila Odinga in their handshake which brought the unity among the Kenyans.

The Bomet leaders including H.E Dr.Hillary Barchok have been in frontline campaigning against the document since inception.

Hon.Robert Serbai representing the people of Embomos is another leader who has been campaigning thoroughly against the document using all available forums.

While speaking at Konoin constituency in Bomet county in a commissioning of Dr.Joyce Laboso Mureisi bridge,the event which was attended by Bomet governor H.E Barchok,the former majority leader Hon.Kipchumba Murkomen, Emurua Dikir member of parliament Hon.Johana Ngeno among other leaders,Serbai said to the attendees that he will vote against the bill regardless of the views of the people of Bomet.

Serbai further said,he will stand with the deputy president of Republic of Kenya tooth and nail and his stand on the bill will never be shaken whatsoever.

His sentiments were echoed by Hon.Charles Langat representing the people of Boito ward who added that,the county assembly of Bomet will definitely vote against the bill once it reaches them.

Hon.Langat just like his counterpart,had said the people of Bomet county is behind the deputy president of Republic of kenya and in that regard the county assembly of Bomet will vote NO to BBI.

The bill has now been endorsed by 32 counties as by 23rd Feb 2021.

The former premier Hon.Raila Odinga had predicted the mass endorsement of BBI by the end of today Tuesday 21st Feb 2021.Odinga has referred today as the super Tuesday.
