Why Gladys Wanga Did Not Welcome President William Ruto In Homa Bay (Opinion)

President William Ruto on Sunday made a visit to Homa Bay county which is one of Raila's strongholds. The region did not give Ruto a big support during the elections but Ruto has not isolated them for not electing him. Homa Bay county is under governor Gladys Wanga who is a big supporter of the Orange Democratic Movement party.

One thing that surprised people during Ruto's visit to Homa Bay is that the governor of the county did not come to welcome him as it should be. Ruto attended a church service at the AIC church in Homa Bay and residents came out to receive him. Local leaders were also present at the service.

Speculations have been made that Gladys Wanga was ashamed to come out and welcome the president given their political differences. During the campaigns Wanga campaigned for Raila Odinga which further explains why she did not come out to welcome him. People have busted her for not coming out to welcome president William Ruto in her own county. They told her that she should have come out and made peace with him if she is a good leader.
