During his speech at Kirinyaga in the Mashujaa Day celebration, President Uhuru uttered pure wisdom as everyone listened in silence. In his speech, Uhuru said that for us to become architects of the future we must begin with protecting what was left behind by the heroes of our country and in particular, we were charged with the great responsibility of taking care of our territorial integrity.

He went ahead and added that folklore has it that a Kamba chief kivoi took a a German missionary from the Anglican Church to see Mt Kenya. On 3rd October 1849 he brought Rebman Krapf whom he told the name was Kinyaa. The missionary named it Kenya which became the name of our nation.

Uhuru said that the transformation of our security sector has without doubt been one of the most significant endeavors of my administration. He said our fathers said the future is not a destination waiting for us, its what we create and move into.
