Professor Makau Mutua who has been a close ally to Raila Odinga and a serious critic of DP William Ruto has weighed the issue of reconciliation between DP William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta as called upon by the clergies. DP William Ruto categorically alleged that he is ready to reconcile unconditionally but president Uhuru Kenyatta is yet to make any official statement on the call to end the animosity between the two.
On a tweeter account professor Makau Mutua alleges that the only way the leaders can reconcile is through one being submissive to the other, which he seems not unlikely. The went different ways after the famous 2018 handshake between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga which led to the creation of BBI referendum proces that was nullified by both high court and court of appeal. Their animosity has gone beyond repair with Kenyatta and his allies asking DP Ruto to resign but Ruto rules out any possibility of resigning.
