The devolution conference began on 23ed of this month,it was officially opened by the head of steta.The steering committee had invited the deputy president to close the conference.
However,the Deputy President William Ruto will not attend the Conference in Wote, Makueni County.
This is according to his communications secretary David Mugonyi who said the DP’s speech will be read by a representative on Friday, the final day of the event that started on Wednesday.
The DP is expected to tour areas of Nyandarua County instead, as he continues to push his agenda ahead of next year's polls. Leaders from all corners of the country have urged the governors to do all it can contain the climatic changes.
With climate change a major topic of debate in the world right now, the conference’s theme this year is ‘Multi-level Governance for Climate Action: Sub National Mobilisation in Unlocking the Full Potential of Climate Action during after pandemics.’
