Chebukati Opens Up On The Threats And Intimidation He Has Been Receiving Not To Announce Ruto

Kenyans have finally learnt their next President with Current Deputy President William Ruto triumphing against Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

There was a lot of tension before the results were announced with four commissioners announcing that they are not part of the IEBC team that declared Ruto as the winner.

According to the team, there was a lot of opaqueness surrounding the process. Chebukati had initially tried to announce the results but was stopped after chaos erupted at the Bomas of Kenya where the national Tallying was being done.

After minutes of silence, the Chairman came back and announced Ruto as the winner. During his speech, Chebukati revealed that he had received a lot of threats and intimidation trying to stop him from announcing the results.

He went ahead and asked the next Chairman of the commission to follow in his footsteps and ensure that Kenyans receive free and fair elections.

Meanwhile, share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
