The 2022 presidential election results are set to be announced in the next few hours with one of Deputy President William or Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga expected to clinch the top seat.

Both candidates have maintained a low profile during this period as they await the final announcement from IEBC. Chairman Wafula Chebukati recently announced that the verification process was taking a lot of time and that Kenyans should be patient with them.

The next few hours will be interesting as the numbers continue to reflect. Before this piece was published, only one million votes were remaining with Deputy President William Ruto leading at 6,406,388 which is 51.18% with Raila Odinga coming in second at 6,025,940 which is 48.14%.

This means that The Azimio la Umoja candidate will need to get At Least 700,000 votes(70%) from the remaining 1M to overtake Ruto and win.

Ruto on his part needs around 300,000 votes (30%) from the remaining 1 M to be declared the winner.

It will be interesting to see how the race turns out eventually.

Meanwhile, share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
