For Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mr. Eugene Wamalwa together with former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya doubling as the Orange Democratic Movement Deputy Party Leader has informed plans to run for the Presidency in the next general elections as new details emerge.
Speaking to the Nation, Mr. Eugene Wamalwa has informed that, he will not be retiring from politics despite being out of government and that he will be strategizing to vie for the presidency in 2027.
The former Devolution Cabinet Secretary has said that he will keep his Democratic Action Party-Kenya active in the opposition and will join other Azimio parties to form a vibrant opposition to help check the administration.
“I am just waiting to hand over the Devolution and Defence dockets, then l go back to the active practice of law and politics. My party will stand strong, shoulder to shoulder with other Azimio affiliates in the opposition to check this administration. If there’s a time Kenya ever needed a strong opposition, it is now,” said Mr. Wamalwa.
Mr. Oparanya has said that he is looking for a job and is ready to play his role in the opposition hinting at a plan to run for the Presidency in 2027.
