
Meru Deputy governor Mr M'Ethingia has revealed that many people were encouraging him to take up the governorship position from Kawira Mwangaza during the time of turbulence. He says that most of the people especially from his Igembe sub tribe encouraged him to take the seat arguing that the opportunity had presented itself for them to occupy the post.

The DG says that the people were urging him to take the seat since the Governor wad having problem's. The Governor had been ousted by the county MCA's over several issue's. Whenever a governor is ousted, the law States that the deputy Governor automatically takes charge. This means the governor goes home, while the deputy automatically rises to power and is allowed to appoint his own deputy.
The DG however says that as a man of God, he would not do to Kawira, what he would not want to be done for in the event that he rose to leadership some day.
