Wamalwa's Edge in the Transnzoia Governor's Race Narrows As More Candidates Enter the Race

With the arrival of money bags, the politics of governor succession in Transnzoia county has taken a new turn. Philemon Samoei, a veteran army officer, and Bishop Jimmy Nduruchi, an ANC candidate for Bungoma governorship in 2017.

There are now five gubernatorial contenders, including Dorcas Njenga, former RC George Natembeya, and Kiminini MP Hon Chris Wamalwa, who has defied the odds to remain at the top of the race to succeed Governor Patrick Khaemba.

As the closely contested race heats up, it has become evident that the competition is between Mr George Natembeya of DAP-K, supported by Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa, and Ford Kenya's Chris Wamalwa, led by Hon Moses Wetangula, a Kenya Kwanza Co-principal.

After launching his Mashinani Interactions development tours, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has increased his chances across the county. This is a political platform that has allowed him to connect with people, interact with them, share ideas, and provide a platform for community empowerment.

Political observers have noted a decline in Natembeya's political clout in the area, blaming CS Wamalwa for dumping him in a field where he has little or no experience grappling with a seasonal politician like Dr Chris Wamalwa.
