A warrant of arrest has been issued by the Employment and Labour Relations court in Nyeri for Embu Governor Martin Wambora, County Secretary County Jason Nyaga, Finance and Economic Planning Executive John Njagi, and his Chief Officer Ruth Ndirangu.
"I hereby issue warrant of arrest against Embu governor Martin Wambora, Jason Nyaga,John Njagi who all failed to appear here," the judge said.
This occurred after the four county officials failed to attend for sentence before Justice Njagi Marete.
They were found in contempt of court last Thursday for failing to remit statutory fees to the Kenya County Government Workers' Union despite a court order requiring them to do so on December 1, 2020.
The judge directed that they be arrested at the OCS Nyeri Police Station.
"I hereby direct the OCS to arrest the three accused persons and bring them for judgement for the contempt of the court as per the law," the judge said.
