The journey to State House had just begun, referees are on the watch as various horses are battling towards the touchline.
Particularly the prospective candidates who have declared their interests are deputy Ruto,One Kenya Alliance OKA principals (Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Gideon Moi), Reuben Kigame, Alfred Mutua, Mukhisa Kituyi, Jimmy Wanjigi alongside other candidates.
Akin to the current political situation, the only two rivals envisaged to have been closely competing against each other are, deputy William Ruto and Raila Odinga who has not declared his candidature.
More presumably Odinga's State House bid seems to be in jeopardy reason being he has not openly declared his candidature ,the move that has has thrown some of his supporters into total confusion.
The second reason is, could it be he is still waiting for official endorsement from his Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta who will be retiring by next year. That may at some times backfire due to unforseen circumstances.
Finally Odinga might lose to businessman Jimmy Wanjigi who is also battling for the top country's seat through the ODM party ticket.
