No Voting For President in 2027 as Raila Declares What's Going to Happen

Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga has now threatened to scuttle any attempts to hold another election in 2027 unless his demands are met.

Raila has demanded that the four suspended IEBC commissioners be reinstated, failure of which there will be no election in Kenya come 2027.

He says that judging by what is happening in the country at the moment, President William Ruto is trying to place his cronies in the IEBC to help him get an easy re-election in 2027.

He holds that for this reason, there is no need for elections to be held, as it is clear that the exercise will not be free and fair as should be the case.

"We demand that the four commissioners be reinstated and Ruto stopped from filling the commission with his cronies otherwise there will be no election in Kenya," he is quoted by People Daily.

The ODM leader made the remarks while addressing opposition supporters during an anti-Ruto rally at the Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi on Wednesday.

Raila, in his previous speeches, has claimed that Ruto is trying to take control of the commission in readiness for 2027, terming this the main reason he wants commissioners opposed to him out.
