Leaders across the black continent are struggling against the pandemic as the deadly virus keeps claiming lives of political elites. In Zimbabwe, it never rains but pours for Zimbabwe's governing politicians who are falling prey to the covid-19 one after another.
On January 15th, Hellen Gwaradzimbo, Zimbabwes minister for provincial affairs for Mancaland province succumbed to Corona Virus. Just within the same week, Hellen was followed by Morton Malianga, the country's deputy finance minister in the 1980s. As it was not enough,on Jan 20, Subuiso Business Moyo, Zimbabwe minister for foreign affairs and international trade also succumbed to Corona Virus in Harare.
By the end of December last year, 11 top politicians in south African had succumbed to covid-19, with the first being Gordon Kegakile, the North West province's cooperative governance.
In Swaziland , currently known as Eswatini, the country's prime minister, Ambrose Dlamini also succumbed to covid-19 last year December, becoming the first head of state to die of Covid 19.
On January 23rd Maklosi Vilakati, a legislature in the parliament of Eswatini succumbed to covid-19. And just a week after Vilakati died , another Eswatini minister who headed the country's public service was also killed by Corona Virus.
