Chebukati Announcement On Next Year's Election Confuses Kenyans On Social Media

A lot has been said about next year's general election as a section of politicians saw it better if the election could be postponed due to covid 19 pandemic. This was after COTU boss Francis Atwoli on Citizen Tv interview lighting the internet users that it's possible for election to be postponed if the BBI Amendment Bill was to fail. This made the anti-BBI proponents to oppose Atwoli's idea.

Later on Wafula Chebukati assured Kenyans that election day will not change and will be on first Tuesday of August in 2022.

On Friday, October 1, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced changes to Election Timelines allowing more time to conduct party preliminaries. Wafula Chebukati announced changes in gazettement of general election date from March 14, 2022 to January 19, 2022.

Chebukati's announcement has left Kenyans confused on social media for not understanding his simple 'English.' Kenyans on Facebook has misunderstood and critized the media group of editing errors.
