Mt Kenya Governor Reveals Why They Insulted Raila Before, Give Conditions to DP on Visiting Mt Kenya

The comments hurled at ODM leader Raila Odinga before the handshake, according to former Head of Public Service and current Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia, were a product of political rivalry with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kimemia further stated that the Mount Kenya region will vote as a bloc, as the region cannot afford to be out of power next year.

“I can guarantee you that the year 2022 will be the year Mount Kenya votes as an unified front because we cannot afford to be out of government,” Kimemia added.

Kimemia further stated that the region owes no political debt to anyone and that they should enjoy their democratic rights in the same way that every Kenyan does. The Governor would also use the chance to chastise DP William Ruto, urging him to show greater respect for his party's leader.

“Most of us don't understand what DP Ruto's ‘bottom-up' means, but he may come looking for votes like any other contender; the only thing we would like to see is more respect for his boss,” Kimemia said.
