Just a day after Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) communication director Philp Etale announced that he had contracted COVID-19 for the second time, another of Raila Odinga's top allies has tested positive for COVID-19.
Emerging reports say Kitu Governor Charity Ngilu has tested positive for COVID-19.
The governor was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital where she is receiving treatment for the killer virus.
The news was broken by her Machakos counterpart, Dr Alfred Mutua
"Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has contracted Covid-19. She is receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital." Governor Mutua confirms as reported by KBC.
She is testing a few days after she met the ODM leader Raila Odinga and other coastal leaders in Mombasa.
Ngilu has been a close ally of Raila Odinga who has also been at the forefront to see Raila and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka joins hands together for a 2022 shot.
"Keeping venerable political company this evening in Mombasa," Charity Ngilu had tweeted.
