The Nairobi County Boss, Hon Bungei, warned Raila that any disorder would be confronted with equal resistance, according to the reporting by the standard media group. This is in response to NIS reports that indicated thugs had been hired to rob businesses and pickpocket people.

Also, it has come to light that the government will restrict entrance to Nairobi's Central Business District for followers of opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday when protests are scheduled to take place.
A few of the precautions the State has put in place include having uniformed police personnel erect barricades on important city entrance highways.

Adamson Bungei, the head of the Nairobi Police Department, said: "You can take it from me, there will be no acts of hooliganism in the city."
Her comments were made at a time when the government had issued a dire warning that it would not tolerate any lawlessness that would have an adverse effect on Kenyans' quality of life.
