“It's Illegal And Unlawful" Uhuru's Party Suffers A Blow As Isaac Mwaura was Reinstated As a Senator

Former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura can now breath a sigh of relief after the High Court in Nairobi reinstated him as a Senator. In today's ruling, Judge Joseph Sergon declared the decision by Jubilee to expel Mwaura from Jubilee as illegal stating that due process was not followed.

“This court is satisfied that the appellant was not accorded a fair hearing notwithstanding the fact that that the appellant did not apply for adjournment of the hearings of the disciplinary committee,” he said as he ordered that Mwaura to be reinstated as a Senator.

“This court as concluded that the Jubilee Party’s National Disciplinary Committee processes and the decision that follows was unlawful,” the Judge said.

This comes after Mwaura was expelled alongside Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Omanga Millicent, Prengei Victor and Iman Dekow at the time of his expulsion, Mwaura was representing Persons With Disabilities as a nominated Senator.
