President William Ruto's greatest potential enemy is the Kenyan people, who could easily turn against him and eliminate him politically, said one political commentator.
Political commentator Mutahi Nguni said in a statement on social media that President William Ruto was orchestrating a ruthless operation in the economy and that his methods were not necessarily the most popular route.
According to Ngunyi, President William Ruto has made a very big mistake by scrapping several economic subsidies initiated by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta. Eliminating subsidies is the right decision economically, he says, but it could be disastrous if not tempered and balanced.
"President William Ruto's enemy is the people. His economic model is bold. not popular. Business is a bold decision. Politics is driven by popular decisions. Failure to reconcile the two leads to rebellion. The crowd is irrational. If you cut subsidies, you're creating enemies," Ngney said.
