Saba-Saba: Raila Odinga Sends Powerful Message to All Kenyans During This Special Day Of Our History

As the country commemorates Saba Saba, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga has sent a powerful message to all Kenyans

For starters, Saba Saba Day is remembered as the day on which nationwide protests took place.

On 7 July 1990, Kenyans took to the streets to demand free elections. The politicians who had called for the protests, Kenneth Matiba and Charles Rubia, were arrested days before the protest day.

The ODM leader has asked Kenyans to take time and reflect on the far they have come in terms of expanding the country's democracy.

Raila also used the opportunity to ask Kenyans to rally behind him in the coming general election on August 9.

"As we commemorate Saba Saba, let us reflect on the long road travelled and what we've achieved in expanding the democratic space we enjoy.

"As we move forward, let's all play our part and vote for Azimio on August 9th as the nation turns blue," he said.
