After winning the general elections Ruto's main goal has been to weaken the Azimio coalition that was his biggest rival during the campaigns. Ruto has been targeting regional kingpins as one of the major approaches to defeat the Azimio leader. After the Supreme Court ruled that he had won fairly in the elections Ruto said that he is not a believer of handshakes and he needs a strong opposition to check his powers.
The last few weeks have however seen Ruto take the big supporters of Raila to Kenya Kwanza a thing that has left the Azimio team vulnerable. Most of the defectors were received at Ruto's Karen residence which has been his main base of operation since the campaign period. Top supporters who have defected to Ruto's camp after the elections include;
2. James Ongwae
4. David Ochieng
5. Ali Roba
6. Chris Obure
7. Richard Tong'i
These leaders come from Kisii, Eastern, Coast and Ukambani where Raila has the biggest support. By taking over these regions Ruto will have defeated Raila and broken his Azimio camp to a point of not return. Follow the page for more news updates daily.
