Th race to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta is already taking shape, with leading presidential aspirants strategising on how to win the 2022 election.
Deputy President William Ruto, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi, among other aspirants, have been making several inroads to different regions of the country in a bid to solidify their chances of winning the converted seat come next year.
Much in the discussions have been the Central region, which is believed as a swing vote having not produce a presidential candidate ahead of 2022 election yet, and for its high number of voters that can easily propell one to victory.

However, Deputy President William Ruto has today, Tuesday 24th August, made a move that may change the discussion surrounding Kenyan politics.
Ruto, while speaking during the burial service of Sada Mgalla Nyawa, the mother to Kwale County Governor Salim Mvurya, asked for the region's support as he publicly begged a highly politically ranked Governor from the coast region to support his presidential bid.
The second in command, while making his speech, said that he was in a mission of bringing all the MPs of this country together by creating a common pool where everybody will be treated equally.
"Tunataka kuunga taifa la Kenya kwa kuleta wabunge wote pamoja. Tunataka kuchimba kisima ambayo sisi wote tutakunywa maji kwa heshima," Ruto said which losely translates to;
"We want to bring Kenyans together by bringing all the Members of Parliament together. We want to dig a borehole where all of us will drink with respect."

Ruto then asked Kenyans from the coastal region to join and support him in the race for presidency. He also humbled himself and politely asked Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi to reconsider his stand and join his camp ahead of 2022 general election.
"Namuuliza rafiki yangu bwana Kingi, tafadhali, kwa heshima, kama ulikuwa unaogopa hii kisima ni ya Ruto, nimekuambia mimi ni mtu wa Jubilee vile wewe ni wa ODM, hii kisima sio yangu husiogope," Ruto said claiming that there is nolonger anything to hide, which losely translates to;
To my friend Mr. Kingi,I beg you with a lot of respect(to join me). If in case you were afraid that this borehole is for Ruto, then I want to tell you it is not mine am still a member of Jubilee the way you are still in ODM."
It should be noted that the Kilifi Governor was a member of ODM party before turning gears recently and voicing his wish for the formation of a Coastal region party. This was followed by being stripped off his Coast region's ODM party chairmanship in what the party termed as disloyalty to the party.
