The battle for Nandi hill constituency seat has attracted a number of candidates with the aim of Unseating the current member of Parliament Hon Alfred Keter.
The constituency is found in Nandi county where the deputy president enjoys a lot of support. The current member of Parliament has been at loggerheads with Ruto since being elected in 2017.
Their bad blood resulted from the fact that he was removed from chairmanship of a committee in parliament thus blaming that Dp for the loss.
In Jubilee nomination in 2017 he was facing an opponent from deputy president office although he emerged the winner and later on won the seat.
The Hon member is facing stiff competition from hon Richard Chepkwony who has vowed to ensure he sends him home.
Having had a bad relationship with the DP who enjoys a lot of support in the constituency has even complicated matters for the current MP. Despite doing a lot in terms of development and fighting for the tea farmers in his constituency he might find the going very tough.
Hon Richard Chepkwony has started launching his own development projects that are endearing him to the residents. He has his own bursary kitty for the need students. He has seen majority of them join schools.
He has also started women empowerment programmes to help boost their economic status.
With all this in the pipeline and having a closer working relationship with the DP hon Chepkwony has an upper hand in 2022general elections. This is my own opinion but the electorates have the final say.
