Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has launched a blistering attack on Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai.
Governor Mandago said in Eldoret that police had failed to carry out their constitutionally mandated tasks.
However, the county leader stated that if violence breaks out during the highly anticipated elections, the police inspector general will take personal responsibility and will be held accountable.
"Recently, we witnessed anarchy at a number of demonstrations, and I would like to warn the police Inspector General that if anything happens to Kenyans, you will be held personally liable and will travel to Haque alone," Governor Jackson Mandago stated.
Mandago said that police had failed to contain the violence and that they should carry out their jobs impartially.
A rally for DP William Ruto was recently disrupted by youths who are alleged to be goons hired by Babu Owino. A similar incident occurred last year in Kondele following an attack on DP William Ruto's convoy.
However, a segment of DP made an attempt. William Ruto's allies have always been denied the opportunity to express their displeasure with the police, thus portraying the police as partisan in their performance of their duty.
