“I'll Want The Functions Back" Sakaja Tells NMS After “Beating" Igathe, Thanks Ruto (Video)

The Nairobi Metropolitan Service, NMS, has been dealt a huge blow as the newly elected governor, Johnson Sakaja, has stated that he will want all four functions transferred to the NMS promptly returned to his office.

The Governor-elect thanked the Nairobi Metropolitan Service, NMS boss, General Badi, and his team for the work they have done in Nairobi. However, he warned that after he is sworn in, all the functions, including health services, county transport, county planning and development, county public works and fire fighting services, and disaster management, will return to his office.

Mr. Sakaja of UDA defeated Mr. Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee to win the election with 699,392 votes. Igathe received 573,516 votes.

Senator Edwin Sifuna of the ODM was elected with 716,876 votes. With 524,091 votes, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru (UDA) came in second place.
